“Music from the Inner
Chamber: Renaissance Music for One and Two Lutes”
The
Terzetti Lute Duo (Phillip Rukavina and Thomas Walker Jr.) takes us on a sonorous journey
through 16th-century Europe, via the rich sounds of the Renaissance lute duet! The
concert features music by virtuoso Italian lutenists Giovanni Antonio Terzi (1593- ca.1620), Allesandro Piccinini (1566-1638),
Vincenzo Galilei (1520-1591) and lovely settings of music by the famously melancholy English lutenist John Dowland (1563-1626)
and Elizabeth I's own court lutenist John Johnson (1540-1594).
